Nov 19, 2018 · Had problem occur on both my macs at same time when clean installing 10.14.5 to my 2014 mac mini and updating my 2017 macbook pro on same day. On large installs including xcode and system updates it would stall and internet would drop with wifi still connected. Tried the steps 1 and 2 above on mac mini but nothing work. I have spoke with Mac support and they have checked the settings that Cox gave me. Mac support said that if all the ports, etc. are entered as Cox gave them to me and the mail won't send that it sounds like a server problem. After speaking to both ends and hearing them blame each other, what Mac is telling me makes more sense. um, i had the same problem which persisted for more than 2 weeks. my webplayer seemed to work fine but the desktop app wouldnt connect even though my internet was fine. i think i just fixed it by running spotifyhelper.exe and spotifywebhelper.exe which i found in the C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Spotify\Data folder. True, my Mac cannot hold a WiFi connection, but that is only at home. At school, it works just fine. Also at home, when my Mac tries to connect, it disconnects all other devices from the WIFI and sometimes even those with ethernet connections stop working.
