The first thing you need to do (if you are not connecting wirelessly) is to make sure that your network cable is connected from the modem or router (given by your internet provider) to the back of your computer. I was able to use a wireless adapter and get internet but need it to be a wired connection. Once you have wireless you can then get it to connect through the ethernet connection but after a restart you lose it.
